The "Best of Both Worlds" Brew

If you can’t decide between a coffee that is fruity and bright or one that is rich and chocolatey, this is the bag for you. Burundi Gasura is a masterclass in balance—it has enough "zing" to wake up your palate, but it finishes with a smooth, sweet comfort that keeps you coming back for another sip.

What it tastes like: A refreshing combination of zesty lime and black tea that transitions into a cozy, lingering finish of dark chocolate and sweet raisins. It’s silky, smooth, and incredibly clean.

Why we like it: It’s an ethical gem. This coffee comes from the "Terimbere" cooperative, which focuses on empowering women in coffee production. We love it because it’s a "polite" coffee—it’s full of flavor but never overwhelming, making it a perfect introduction to East African origins.

Best way to drink it: We roast this one light and quick to keep it vibrant. It is a dream when brewed as a Filter coffee or used for a crisp, tea-like Cold Brew.

The Gasura Washing Station in Burundi, located in the northern area of Kirundo province, produces fully washed coffee. The region, known for growing Arabica coffee red bourbon variety, receives cherries from 400 coffee growers belonging to the cooperative named "Terimbere" (Let's Move Forward) in Kirundi. Women empowerment is emphasized, encouraging their involvement in coffee production from seed to harvest. Cherries are carefully selected and delivered the same day to the wet mill for fermentation and washing. Gasura stands out as one of the seven wet mills operating in the Northern East region.
